SSSA Alpine event Wed 21st Jan

The students who attended the SSSA Alpine event on Wednesday (travelling up to The Lecht in Strathdon) had a very successful day and represented Calderwood extremely well. As well as some incredible skiing, we were delighted to spot a Golden Eagle (native to the area) flying above our group. This was Rolf’s first time joining the team and competing in a competitive event, and he approached the experience with confidence and maturity. He demonstrated great resilience and maintained a very positive attitude throughout the day. Aaron competed in a higher age group, which presented a significantly greater challenge. Despite this, he delivered some impressive personal-best performances and showed excellent sportsmanship by enthusiastically supporting and encouraging his school team. Both Ruairidh and Rolf achieved podium finishes in the U10 category:
