  • Term 4 Home Learning Grids: Click here for the link.
  • RSHP: All our clans will be taking part in the RSHP this term, Relationships, Sexual Health and Parenthood Education as part of their Health and Wellbeing Curriculum, in line with Scottish Government guidance. You will find information about the learning your child will take part in at this link.
  • Pupil absence: A reminder to families that it is their responsibility to please ensure they contact the school office by email (preferably) or phone by 9am to make us aware of their child’s absence. Unfortunately, we can have up to 30 unexplained absences in the morning which can put a large amount of workload unto our office champs. Failure to report an absence may result in an escalation to the safe arrivals team or a house visit.
  • East Calder Gala: You can find out more information here. We would love to see you and your family join us in the Gala walk.
  • No Scotland, No Party!: We are delighted that Musician Nick Morgan, is going to perform his hit No Scotland, No Party as part of a School’s Tour attend of the World Cup. This will take place on 13thMay in the school Arena for approximately 20 minutes, for Primary 1-7 clans. Children should wear school uniform as usual and the Parent Council will kindly supply each child with a mini saltire flag to help them celebrate. If you feel this is something your child would not wish to take part in, please let the school office know.
  • Staffing Update: We are currently recruiting for a third permanent Principal Teacher for first level. This was previously Mrs Bates’ post that has not been filled on a permanent basis. Mrs Wolfe, a clan teacher who was having a career break abroad this session has decided to stay abroad on a permanent basis. We wish Mrs Wolfe lots of luck on her new adventures and a huge thanks for all she has done to help Calderwood.
  • Primary 5 Clans Showcase: You can find out more information here.
  • Parent Council: The next parent council meeting is on 26th May 6-8 in person at the school or online. If you have any items of business you’d like to raise please email: calderwoodpspc@gmail.com
  • Bikes & Scooters: Please remind your children to double check their scooters and bikes at the end of the school day to ensure they are taking the correct scooter. We also advise children to use a bike lock to secure their bikes and scooters at the bike racks
