Ben Lomond Clan Charter

We have had a positive week in Ben Lomond getting to know each other and settling into our new clan.

We have been refreshing our memories about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and thinking about the rights that are important to us. We read Everyone Is Born Free and chose our top rights for our clan. We worked together to decide how we will respect our rights as right holders, and how Miss McGuire and Miss Hutton will respect our rights as duty bearers.

After a hotly contested clan vote, we decided on Jellycat as our theme! We each designed our own Jellycat to represent us as part of our classroom display.

We read My Class Is a Family and talked about how important it is to feel happy, safe and comfortable at school, especially as we spend so much of our time here. We shared our ideas about what makes our clan feel like a family. You can see some of our thoughts in the photos below!

It’s been a lovely start to the year, and we’re looking forward to all the learning, fun and memories still to come!
