Edinburgh Clan Class Charter

The pupils of Edinburgh Clan have been busy creating our very own Class Charter. Using the book Our Class is a Family as inspiration, we reflected on how we can build a positive classroom where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and supported. The story encouraged us to think about the important role each person plays in making our clan a happy and successful place to learn.

As part of this learning, we explored the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and discussed how these rights connect to our daily lives in school. We recognised that every child deserves to feel safe, respected, included and heard. Together, we agreed on a set of shared responsibilities that will help us create a classroom where everyone can thrive and where our rights are protected throughout the year.

To bring our charter to life, we linked it to our class theme of space. Each pupil designed their own astronaut and added it to our Edinburgh Clan galaxy. Together, we have created a vibrant display that celebrates our individuality while showing that we are all part of the same crew. Just like astronauts rely on one another during a mission, we know that kindness, teamwork, and respect help us to reach our goals.

Our Class Charter will guide us throughout the year as we explore new learning, overcome challenges and achieve great things together. It reminds us that every member of our crew is important, every voice matters, and that we can reach for the stars when we support one another…

In Edinburgh Clan, we are all part of the same mission and together there are no limits to what we can achieve! ⭐
